My family and I started our retail business over thirty years ago in Ghana with the notion that we wanted to make a difference. When we first began, we purchased a wide variety of products from every corner of the world and sold them in our shop. Over the years, we gathered a substantial customer base–customers who helped us learn a valuable lesson in commerce: the authenticity of our products is just as important as their variet.
Armed with my experience in Ghana, I moved to the United States and first launched our online retail store. However, there was still room for us to stretch our wings. So, with Ambak International, our role solely as retailers transformed to include that of distributors: we simultaneously became suppliers to the wholesalers and to the customers. And, in this new role, we thrived; we knew what products the customers wanted most from years at the retail end and we knew what the suppliers needed most by buying from them for decades.
Most importantly, though, we had forged trusting relationships with both our customers and suppliers–trust we could not betray. That’s what makes us different from other exporters: we guarantee the authenticity of our products. Because Ambak International is located in the United States, we have easy access to these top quality products–the same high demand items that our customers all over the world have grown to love over the years. To ensure our customers get what they’ve paid for, we do a quality check on all our goods before they are shipped out. We believe all companies should have access to these quality products because people deserve authentic products for their money regardless of where they live.
We’ve now expanded from exporting cosmetics and health products to also exporting baby products and household items. It is our hope that our journey continues to evolve–that we continue to grow our exporting business with new partnerships and more products.
